Statement from the Journal of Information Literacy about submissions related to Generative Artificial Intelligence
As with many journals, we are receiving more submissions on the topic of AI and information literacy. We remain open to receiving work on this topic that is research-driven or that interrogates assumptions and examines the consequences of AI on IL practice, ethics and infrastructure. We are not currently accepting project reports or papers on the following topics:
- Presentation of AI tools or resources used in information literacy teaching that do not demonstrate how the tool/resource has been evaluated/show user data
- Presentation of AI literacy frameworks that do not demonstrate how the framework has been evaluated/show user data.
- Presentations of AI literacy that do not engage with information literacy literature and scholarship
All AI-related research should additionally meet novelty, significance and impact criteria. Please enquire if you are unsure about suitability of your study.
